How fashion trend start: Life style

How do trends occur where do they start, why do some other runways have exactly the same color scheme or maybe some identical items.

Today i'm going to dive in all those questions that i get asked quite often. but first of all have a good day.

And yes let's just dive right in so what is a trend so like there are so many different ways of talking about it some people have different opinions on what it is but in my opinion it is a means to satisfy a need of some sort a new generations wants to do different things like maybe they believes have changed and now they want to dress a certain way to satisfy their appearance infront of masses or

they have new needs and they need to be met there are a few different trends like classes i guess of trends. so there is a macro trend or like a classic trend where it is subtle but it is really popular for many years but it's like a classical maybe high-waisted trouser or maybe it's a button-up shirt or maybe it's a sneaker. so, these things don't go out of style that fast they're really in there maybe there's some little varieties of like how they're made throughout the years but the silhouette i guess it's the same.

And they can last from like five to ten years maybe even longer another set of trends is; The Consumer Trend and this is the trend that usually kind of highlights the decade. this is the trend that is remembered for you know like the low-rise jeans like the two the early 2000s and then the flapper dress like the 20s and etc all right and the third one and the worst one is the Micro Trend and it is also called a fad.

And this is where a trend is so like spontaneous and just out there and it dies out not even lasting a year and we see this.so much with fast fashion and this is usually because this trend does not satisfy a need of any kind. it's just there and it's like oh my gosh and then everybody does it and then it's no longer useful. if you know what i mean all right so now let's talk about where these trends come from.

there are so many different agencies that actually their job is to predict trends. they don't actually make them. they predict what is going to be popular so these agencies are specialized in looking and collecting for those new things around the world. so, it's not only fashion. it's politics, economics, cultural influence, art, music, new innovations or even new materials change in society development of new markets and so on.

so they collect mood boards for different businesses particularly like maybe if a business has a brand these companies actually make mood board for that brand to match it to match their clientele. what they think their audience would like to have to own you know any changes and these fashion forecasters.

They actually go around the world searching for new materials maybe new innovations of how to make a certain thing and that will signify that oh there is something that's easier to make maybe there's like a new die of some sort that is going to be really popular once that production starts to develop and alL lot of designers will try to use that because it's something new people will want it of course not every designer chooses to use these agencies but many do just because these are the people who know what their client wants. they know what the world is moving towards.

They can actually analyze the brand's potential and their clientele. what they want what they need and in this ever-changing creatively draining world of fashion people just need to have this inspiration to have new ideas new thoughts for their collections to have a new breath. so sometimes it's the same color sometimes as maybe a jean of some sort.

On the topic of color why do lots of designers have the same color once again there is a pantone color of the year and this color is said to be a color of the year by a university that specializes particularly in color and they don't only just say oh this is a beautiful color you should okay it's great. they actually figure out what the world needs.

Maybe there's a new way of making a die. maybe there's a new something else. They analyze what people want and they do it. so there's usually like a color of the year and there's a few other colors that maybe work well together with that color or maybe it's just you know they didn't really make the cut of the color of the year.  and in this way the collections seem more unified and maybe a buyer could buy from different designers and it'd still be a uniform kind of looks that work together. so many designers do choose to follow those color trends. i don't know it's easier for us when they do that.

There are different fashion forecasters. There are forecasters that do the forecast for about like five years from now or like even later and there's four casters like myself who do it for like a year in advance by watching the runways already and having like to see what the designers come up with because once the designers the top designers come out with their things all of the mass market producers actually look at those shows make certain designs copy them kind of thing and create their own cheaper versions and distribute. so,  i'd like to talk about the fashion show itself.

So designers are basically artists. They can be inspired by other art they can be inspired by music, inspired by events. that are happening in the world today and they can be inspired by work of other designers and maybe make their own piece of that design.

In shows you probably noticed that some of the designs are unwearable this is usually because they're not supposed to be wearable. a runway show can have four different looks accessible look that anybody can wear.

It can be something that pushes the boundaries of fashion something risky that may have may catch on may not catch on. it's like an experiment for them. it can be a piece of art that is not supposed to be a worn it can like add a feel to the the show itself or maybe it can be just you know an expression of the artist and a show stopper.

This can be either a work of art or it can be like a couture a very delicate design of some sort or maybe just a crazy something that people oh my god you know what i mean so what i'm trying to say is not everything that's on the runway is meant to be worn and not everything ends up in the mass market designers are artists and want to express themselves and present a uniform kind of art form as fashion. using fashion forecasting that's the short term one department stores look for sellable items. so they do hire agencies and these agencies present them. these are really wearable looks from the fashion shows. you can do this. you can buy this. maybe you do this and that's what the department stores do.

Majority of the trend depend on celebrities and something of high power and this is called a trickle-down theory when a celebrity chooses or likes something, they wear it and then the department stores try to recreate it.

And then the i don't want to say thelL lower class;but the real people in the world who they can't afford crazy expensive things can try to like recreate it or wear it.

Basically, what celebrities i want to wear people would you know want to wear it too. if the designer has you know friends celebrities they might actually gift things to them and etc. this is actually happening right now on a different scale of influencers.

Actual real people who kind of bring up what the designers are selling

A trickle up theory when for instance like a street where inspires a designer to create something like that so from a lower class kind of situation. i don't want to say lower class why because their other word of saying like different you know what i mean like a regular people wearing something and then having that show up on the runways as an inspiration like. for instance the denim trend like i feel i know of course the denim was popular; but then there's so much denim on the street like streetwear on denim and i believe that triggered such an increase in denim for this year.

so here we go hopefully this answered most of the questions. I know it's not kind of like a straight answer because honestly creative people don't really have straight answers. they're like i just felt like it hopefully now you kind of understand. that it is not a straightforward science. There's always doubts some people like a trend and then they go forward with it. some don't like it maybe it's just the thing of comfort a really big trend can be forced by like actual social thing like revolution of some sort.

so for instance historically speaking fashion was very involved in revolutions especially the french one but anyways i maybe talk about this a little bit later not in this article but like in the spring summer shows of 2021.

There was so many shows that had a vote on them like louis vuitton, christian soriano, and a few other shows that i can't seem to put my finger on. I think michael kors went out in a vote t-shirt. I think that's a powerful show of a social event that powered a fashion change fashion trend.

I hope you enjoyed and be happy to read this article. i hope it answered a few of your questions and i hope you stay classy bye.
